Islamic States Should Apply Oil Embargo Against Pro-Zionist countries

Egypt's President Hosni Mubarak was quoted on Saturday as saying he was opposed to a new Arab oil embargo against the West to put pressure on Israel to stop its atrocities against Palestinians.
The above remark has been made by the president of a country that was once ruled by revolutionary President Gamal Abul Nassir, who stood up to the Zionist regime and pro-Zionist U.S. administration in the early 1970s.
Mubarak is one of the closest allies of the U.S. and the Zionist regime and does everything to serve their interests in the region, regardless of the rights of the Palestinian people.
But the Egyptian people have often voiced their abhorrence at the servility of their president and expressed their solidarity with the oppressed Palestinians in their holy struggle for the liberation of their homeland.
Given the heinous crimes committed by the Zionist regime against the oppressed Palestinian nation, the Islamic countries should use all levers at their disposal against the supporters of the Zionist entity.
The Persian Gulf states are sitting on some 65 percent of the world's oil reserves.
Besides, some Arab Muslim countries in North Africa are also the exporters of black gold.
Thus, if Islamic countries turn off their oil valves on those countries violating the rights of the Muslims and Palestinians or condoning such violations, surely there will not be so much injustice against Muslims.
The Islamic countries once gave a lesson to the arrogant powers in 1973, when they imposed an oil embargo against the countries supporting the Zionist aggression against the Arab states.
But due to the betrayal of some treacherous elements, the Islamic countries could not achieve their ultimate objectives.
Fortunately, today there is more unity among the Islamic countries, and all Muslims across the world have expressed solidarity with the oppressed Palestinians and voiced their readiness to extend all kinds of support for the Palestinian struggle against the Zionist occupiers.
As the Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei recently stressed, the Palestinians can liberate their homeland from the clutches of the Zionists only through jihad, or armed struggle.
The Leader also stressed that "supporting Intifada (uprising) is a major duty of all Islamic states." This remark was considered as a fatwa, or a religious decree, by all Muslim nations throughout the world.
